Poiana Brasov, founded in 1895 as a touristic resort for ski and nature lovers. Located just 12 Km from Brasov (180 kms from Bucharest), this international ski resort is a perfect winter destination for those seeking an inexpensive winter holiday. The Winter International Olympic Games for Universities was hosted here in 1951. There are numerous ski slopes ranging in all difficulty levels from beginners to advanced including slalom runs, downhill and an Olympic run.
